| INTRODUCTION:
Chourasianala M.I.P. is a Diversion Weir Project constructed
across Chourasianala near very remote village Runipalli in
Kharmunda G.P. in Attabira block of Bargarh District. The
Project was sanctioned under W.O.D.C. funding for construction
during the year 2002-2003 for Rs. 38.50 lakhs.
The designed ayacut of this project is 65 hac in Khariff.
The ayacut area comes under the cpmmand in village Runipalli.
LOCATION:
The project is located at a distance of 30 km from the district
head quarters at Bargarh and equidistant from block headquarters
at Attabira. It is approachable during all weather from Bargarh.
THE PROJECT:
The construction of this project was a longstanding demand
of the people of village Runipalli through the Hon'ble M.L.A.
of Sambalpur, for which the administrative approval was accorded
for Rs. 38.50 lakhs during the year 2002-03 with the following
provisions.
- Construction
of diversion weir of 38 M long.
- Construction
of distribution system.
- Land
acquistion for distribution system.
ACHIEVEMENT:
The actual construction work was started during March 2003
after the laying of foundation stone on dt: 18/03/2003 by
the Hon'ble M.L.A. Sambalpur. A major portion of the work
was completed then by June '04 leaving a small portion of
distribution system. The work is in progress with completed.
- The
construction of Diversion weir completed.
- Construction
of Diversion system for 500m in right main canal and 660
m of branch canal completed out of 2400m canal length.
Irrigation
was supplied during the Khariff season from June-October'2004
to an ayacut of 40 hac through the half completed distribution
system.
The balance work of distribution system has not been taken
up due to L.A. and balance funding. The work is programmed
to be completed by January'2005.
FINANCIAL POSITION:
An allotment to the tune of Rs. 35.00 lakhs has been received
so far out of the sanctioned & approved estimate for Rs.
35.50 lakhs. Till now expenditure amounting to Rs.31.81 lakhs
has already been incurred and the U.C. thereof is submitted. |
